Rick van der Vlies, born in 1996 and based near Rotterdam, is active as photographer and digital retoucher. He loves to create lifestyle, fashion, sporty and portrait images for advertising and editorial purposes.
Rick started his career relatively young as a street photographer in Rotterdam and London. The streets still form his inspiration: the fashion that you can find out there, the shapes that can be created by harsh sunlight, the place where colours can come to life. Besides the streets, Rick also draws inspiration from his other passion: martial arts. The aesthetics, the intimacy and dynamics he finds in this sport.
This results in a punchy, close up and colourful image style. An image style that truly comes to life when working with a team of skilled people.
