JOBstream is looking for a Business Analist - DHW / BI.
Background:
The client is implementing: a flexible, scalable, efficient and cost-effective platform. The strategy for the Transformation Program is to create this platform based on the global Target Operating Model to enforce standardization in processes and products.
One of the work packages within the program is the reporting work package wherein required global and Amsterdam local reports (from legacy applications) will be delivered in the Cognos environment. Migration from local solutions to global Environment and set up of global authorization matrix is needed to ensure proper control.
Main objective of the job:
The Business Analyst's primary focus of work is functional related and includes contacts with the user community. The objective is to analyze the business environment (business rules and processes) and to write the functional design and functional specifications into one uniform Data warehouse model.
These document is the basis for the communication with the sponsor, future users, the development team and the test team.
Key task of the Business Analyst is to translate the operation’s requirements into a business intelligence strategy and supporting data model to ensure a global reporting solution
Functionally reports into the Reporting Manager.
Key Responsibility/Accountabilities:
Analyses:
- Assisting in gathering the needs and problems of the business
- Perform impact analysis to ensure that requirements (business/customer/system) can be met
- Analyzing, interpreting and translating the business requirements into viable solutions.
- Providing business support and advising on analysis and design to development team
- Formulates system requirements for the project and ensures understanding and integration of the business, customer and system requirements in the solution.
- Documents business processes
Design:
- Translation of the various technical systems into one data warehouse model
- Providing business support and advising on analysis and design to development team
- Providing advice on the design of the interface from the client’s business perspective
- Estimating the amount of effort required for specific work packages based on function point analysis or other proven estimation techniques
- Providing business support and advice on quality management to the development team
Test and improvement:
- Clarifying functional requirements and resolving implementation issues
- Estimate if established standards and techniques can be used for the unit, system and FAT testing
- Produce Functional Acceptance test cases and coordination of the tests (unit, System, FAT)
- Evaluates testing results and decides what actions should be taken in accordance to the tested IT processes or the business parties.
- Assists during user acceptance testing
Qualifications:
Bachelor (HBO/Universtity) with a degree or further studies in Banking/Economics, IT or related subject.
Experience:
- Experience in data warehouse Modelling
- 4+ Years experience within an application development environment and with some awareness of infrastructure implications of application development
- Experience of all phases of the development lifecycle e.g. analysis, design and testing
- Experience in the financial services industry,
- Experience in assisting business units to define business requirements
- Experience leading and working with individuals and teams from diverse cultures
Business/Commercial Knowledge:
- Background in Finance. Knowledge of Event management, management accounting & Financial accounting
- Broad understanding of the Commercial banking sector and current trends
- Knowledge of the ING business and products
- In-depth understanding of Commercial Lending and Structured Finance
IT Skills:
- Competent in the use of MS Projects, Visio, Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of industry standard tools (such as CaliberTM for requirement management and Mercury for defect management)
- RUP/Agile development experience
- Broad understanding of concepts and complexities of implementing third party packages into a finance domain.
- LoanIQ knowledge strong preference (or e.g. similar applications such as ACBS)
- Knowledge of Java and Oracle
- Understanding of Tibco (preferred)
- Understanding of CMMI
