IT / Software Development Manager, Java / Agile

We are looking for an (Dutch speaking!) IT manager who is familiar with Java and Agile developments. This can be a interim role, until a permanent employee has been found. Our client is a young and dynamic company specializing in the complete end-to-end delivery of high-impact J2EE web-applications often with complex interfacing to legacy systems. Their staff are highly respected specialists who leverage modern methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE, SCRUM) and state-of-the-art technologies (like AJAX, Spring, Hibernate, GWT and a lot more) to deliver the complete SDLC. Your tasks As the IT manager you are overall responsible for all aspects of software development and delivery and you will become part of the MT. Your tasks will include creating a uniform project delivering platform, introducing processes, setting out the technical direction of the company, quality assurance, tooling, line management and project management. You will work closely with project managers and architects in teams of highly respected specialists to develop java EE web applications. Technologies used are Spring, Hibernate, WebServices, GWT (Google Web Toolkit), Ajax, SOAP and REST. Experience and/or interest in new and upcoming front-end technologies is vital. Your profile -HBO (Higher Vocational Training) or University in Information Technology. -Relevant experience as an IT (project) manager -Technology background and familiar with the technologies described above. -Excellent people management skills -Able to motivate staff -Experience with software development, delivery and support -Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Dutch. -Able to set the technical direction of the company and communicate with the technical architects. -Flexible, dynamic and very motivated. -No 9 to 5 mentality!
