Medior Applicatie Ontwikkelaar (HERHALING)

JOBstream is looking for a Medior Applicatie Ontwikkelaar.

Current open position will focus on technical application management and be added to a team where functional application management is also catered for. Many of these applications are developed or based on Microsoft technology.

Prime focus will be on the in house developed applications, but it is expected that in the coming months also other applications will be transferred from external parties to the in-house technical application manager.

Job description:
- Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of uptime and error free running of applications and environment.
- Assure and maintain operations manual and admin guides for proper day-to-day operations and monitoring.
- Responsible for handling smaller and bigger change requests and changing (develop new code/features) the application accordingly.
- Assure and maintain applications design standards (e.g. templates, style guides, naming conventions)
- Maintain and optimize all SQL server databases for both platforms.
- Identifying opportunities and propose new solutions
o Monitor technological trends
o Develop pilot projects
o Efficiency and effectiveness improvements for application management
- Facilitate in knowledge/best practice sharing amongst colleagues
- Assist global application manager in aligning applications with global business processes
- Assure reusability of own developed software amongst others by administering source codes (VisualSourceSafe / TeamFoundationServer)

Job requirements:
- Education and skills on bachelor level
- Minimal 1 year of IT related experience. An international environment is a pre
- Application manager should possess knowledge on: VB6 applications, SQL-DBA capacities, unit testing methods, TransActSQL, C# / .net 3.5
- Good analytical skills is a must
- Good in spoken and written English
- Service oriented organizational skills and good communicator
- Knowledge on structuring application management and documentation (ITIL or alike)
- Knowledge on project and test methodologies (Prince II and TMAP) is a bonus.
