As the Senior Hardware Engineer (PCBA Developer), you will spearhead the design, development, and optimization of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) for FeelRobotics' product line. You'll lead technical projects involving microcontrollers such as Espressif, STM, and Nordic chips and drive seamless collaboration with firmware, design, and production teams. This senior-level role will focus on delivering high-performance hardware solutions ready for mass production while ensuring design efficiency, regulatory compliance, and seamless functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the PCB layout and schematic design for complex, multi-layer products, ensuring design robustness and manufacturability.
- Integrate WiFi and Bluetooth features for optimal wireless functionality, coordinating with firmware teams on communication protocols and system interfaces.
- Drive advanced analog/digital circuit design, focusing on signal integrity and minimal interference.
- Define and optimize designs for cost-effective mass production, including component sourcing, BOM management, and manufacturing standards.
- Ensure compliance with FCC/IC certifications and lead EMI/EMC pretesting and testing to meet regulatory standards.
- Design and integrate efficient power management systems, including Li-ion/Li-po batteries and low-power circuits.
- Conduct rigorous simulation and validation using simulation software for performance reliability.
- Author and maintain in-depth technical documentation for all design and testing procedures.
Required Skills:
- PCB Design Expertise: Advanced skills in complex, multi-layer PCB design using tools like Altium Designer and KiCad.
- Analog/Digital Circuit Design: Strong capability in analog/digital circuit architecture, ensuring stability, functionality, and cost efficiency.
- Mass Production Leadership: Proven track record of managing PCBA designs for high-volume manufacturing with attention to assembly and cost optimization.
- Component Selection and BOM Management: Strong experience in strategic component selection, BOM management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- EMC/EMI Knowledge: Expert in identifying, mitigating, and ensuring compliance with EMI/EMC standards.
- Microcontroller Proficiency: Extensive experience with ESP32, STM32, and Nordic NRF52833, particularly in wireless applications.
- Communication Protocols: Expertise in I2C, SPI, UART, and other protocols, ensuring seamless integration with firmware.
- Advanced Power Management: Knowledge of power regulation, battery systems, and power circuitry for reliable performance and minimal consumption.
Desirable Skills:
- Antenna Tuning and High-Frequency Design: Skills in impedance matching and antenna tuning for optimized wireless signal quality.
- Embedded C/C++ Programming: Familiarity with embedded development in VSCode to facilitate testing and debugging.
